The achdus, the hospitality, the warmness—everything there just blew my spirits away. And I would say, I don't know how many times I've been there for Shabbos now. Every time I go back, it's a whole different experience meeting different people.
Hi, my name is Yehuda Steinberg. I'm currently at Rabbi Fisher's Yeshiva, and this is my fourth year here. When I first came to Israel, at the beginning, I wanted to go to Safed for Shabbos, and someone gave me the number of Rabbi Vogel. I called him up—I didn't know what to expect, this or that—and I asked him if I could come with a couple of friends, and he said sure. I came there that first Shabbos, and what I saw blew me away.
The achdus, the hospitality, the warmness—everything there just blew my spirits away. And I would say, I don't know how many times I've been there for Shabbos now. Every time I go back, it's a whole different experience meeting different people. Still to this day, I keep in touch with a lot of people from there, all because of that. You see people from all different backgrounds of life—people coming from here, coming from there—this and that. It's amazing what they have—the hospitality and everything. They serve the food, the achdus, the singing. It's really something like no other.

They have an open home, and it is a constant flow of chesed.
They listen to people for hours when they have something to say, even if it’s not important. But it is important because it comes from that person’s neshama, and they’re here for that.

The spiritual environment you feel there: literally shakes the building.

I remember the huge table, with people from all over the world: we felt we were all one big family.
My wife and I met all these incredible people, and we were just blown away by the experience.
