I started coming to them in the beginning when it was just a few guys from Fisher’s Yeshiva attending the meals, and I've been going to them ever since. Every year, every time I go, there are different people, and the place keeps growing.
My name is Yudi Rosenblum from Monsey. I met the Vogels when they had just moved to Safed. I started coming to them in the beginning when it was just a few guys from Fisher’s Yeshiva attending the meals, and I've been going to them ever since. Every year, every time I go, there are different people, and the place keeps growing.
One of my favorite parts of the meal is that it's so warm. You'd think that with so many guests, the Vogels wouldn't know everyone personally, or maybe they'd just know their names, but somehow they have a personal connection with every single person there. It’s like they know people before they even arrive, and the whole table feels like one big family.
It’s my favorite place to go when I’m in Israel. Whenever I’m in Safed that’s where I eat—there’s nowhere else I’d rather go for a meal.

They have an open home, and it is a constant flow of chesed.
They listen to people for hours when they have something to say, even if it’s not important. But it is important because it comes from that person’s neshama, and they’re here for that.

The spiritual environment you feel there: literally shakes the building.
The spiritual environment you feel there during a Shabbos meal—the singing and the vibrations—literally shakes the building.

I remember the huge table, with people from all over the world: we felt we were all one big family.
My wife and I met all these incredible people, and we were just blown away by the experience.
